Changelog

This changelog lists every released version of TranslatePilot, the most recent first.

This page is generated automatically from the product's changelog file when a release is made. Changes made by hand are lost at the next synchronisation.

Version 0.12.0 – 7 September 2026

Added

  • Besides Claude and Mittwald, OpenAI, Google Gemini, Mistral and DeepSeek can now be chosen as providers — with a built-in address, so only the key is needed.
  • For any further OpenAI-compatible service there is the "Custom" option with a freely chosen base address.

Changed

  • For the new providers TranslatePilot shows the estimated token count per run; a USD limit can be set by entering the price per million tokens in the options.

Version 0.11.0 – 7 September 2026

Changed

  • The dashboard now leads straight into the wizard with a large button — labelled "Start" or "Resume" depending on the state.
  • The wizard's step bar is more compact: numbered circles instead of long text tabs that wrapped on narrower screens.
  • Every run now begins with a result summary; the full transcript sits below it, collapsible.
  • The wizard now has a single way forward, and writing actions stand out in colour from plain navigation.
  • The run transcript appears only under the step that triggered it, and the rarely used API base address now lives in an "Advanced" section.

Version 0.10.0 – 6 September 2026

Fixed

  • The wizard validates input right when saving: an invalid base address or an unknown provider is rejected with a notice instead of being taken over silently.
  • On YOOtheme sites the module mirroring offered to duplicate the already mirrored footer. Builder modules are now left to the footer and template steps.

Language

  • All run transcripts, gate messages and error texts now follow the backend language — English-speaking administrators no longer see German messages.

Version 0.9.0 – 6 September 2026

Added

  • The new wizard guides through the whole translation in eight steps: provider and access, languages, setup, profile, scope, sample and approval, mirroring, summary.
  • Every step judges its own state, allows corrections right in place and blocks moving on while required settings are missing.
  • When saving the access data, the connection is verified immediately by loading the model list from the provider — a wrong key surfaces in step one, not in a failed run.
  • The summary shows every decision on one page; from there either the free dry run or the live run starts.

Changed

  • The analysis page is now a pure report; all actions happen in the wizard.

Version 0.8.4 – 6 September 2026

Changed

  • The dashboard is now the control centre: tiles and check rows link straight to the matching place, and a new card leads to every function including the manual.
  • The options button now sits at the top right of every page of the component, as does the way back to the overview.
  • Green checks show a check mark instead of the text "OK".

Fixed

  • The yellow "review" for articles set to language "All" now leads straight to the filtered article list, and to the language manager when the site default language deviates.

Version 0.8.3 – 6 September 2026

Changed

  • TranslatePilot now has its final product mark — the translation sign "A文" with an arrow in the style of the Graup-IT family; the installation panel shows it instead of the previous placeholder.

Version 0.8.2 – 6 September 2026

Changed

  • The dashboard now opens with four key-figure tiles (readiness, source-language articles, target languages, mappings) and carries version and vendor at the bottom — like the other Graup-IT extensions.

Fixed

  • The dashboard's language list showed the language code twice when the language name already contained it ("English (en-GB) (en-GB)").

Version 0.8.1 – 6 September 2026

Added

  • TranslatePilot now has a complete manual in German and English; the links in the installation panel lead straight there.

Fixed

  • Outdated notes about a "wizard following later" are removed — translating, mirroring and scheduled tasks have long been there.
  • Read-only users now learn which permission is missing for translating instead of being pointed at an upcoming version.

Version 0.8.0 – 6 September 2026

Added

  • TranslatePilot is now provider-open: besides Claude (Anthropic), Mittwald AI Hosting and other OpenAI-compatible providers can be chosen as the translation service.
  • The model list is queried directly from the chosen provider and appears in the options for selection once the API key is saved.
  • For providers with a flat plan (such as Mittwald) the USD cost estimate is dropped; shown instead is how many tokens count against the monthly quota.

Changed

  • The quality approval now applies per provider and model: after switching providers, the first real run requires a freshly reviewed sample.

Version 0.7.0 – 6 September 2026

Added

  • New and changed articles can now be translated automatically: the bundled task plugin runs the translation through Joomla's task scheduler.
  • Scheduled runs stand behind the same safeguards as the backend: profile approval, cost limit and batch limit apply per run; without approval nothing runs.
  • The backup confirmation becomes a standing declaration for scheduled runs: without confirmed automatic backups the task does not run.
  • Optionally the task also checks before every run that a named backup file exists and is young enough.

Notes

  • The mirror passes (menu, footer, templates) deliberately do not run on a schedule — they remain click actions with a preview.

Version 0.6.0 – 6 September 2026

Added

  • The multilingual setup now runs in the backend: content languages, language filter, one home page per language and the language switcher — with a free preview and without duplicate creations.
  • The menu mirroring creates menu twins of translated content per target language, sorts them into the source structure and puts the home pages straight; internal links are repaired afterwards.
  • YOOtheme footer and templates can be mirrored per language: texts translated, categories and links switched to the translations. Without YOOtheme these steps simply do not apply.

Notes

Version 0.5.0 – 6 September 2026

Added

  • Custom fields (com_fields) now travel along: text, textarea and editor fields get translated, every other type is taken over unchanged — changes to field values trigger the update.

Notes

  • Language-bound fields are left out; Joomla does not show them on the other language anyway.

Version 0.4.0 – 6 September 2026

Added

  • Modules pinned to the source language can now be created as translated twins: title and content translated, settings taken over, the page assignment switched to the menu twins.
  • The analysis shows which modules would be missing on the translated pages — with a free preview before creating anything.
  • The dashboard warns when the site's default language differs from the source language — otherwise the target language would sit at the root and the source language behind a language prefix.

Notes

  • Module settings are taken over unchanged, and edits to the source module do not yet propagate to the twin.

Version 0.3.0 – 6 September 2026

Added

  • The component now actually translates: a quality sample with source and translation side by side, profile approval, then the real run in batches — with cost gate, backup confirmation and transcript.
  • When a batch runs out of time, the run stops cleanly and the next click continues exactly there.
  • The analysis now states explicitly what gets translated and what does not, and the already current articles can be inspected too.

Notes

  • The real run stays locked until a sample has been reviewed and approved. Any change to profile or model demands a fresh approval.

Version 0.2.0 – 6 September 2026

Added

  • New analysis view: it shows per target language which articles are new, changed or current, what the next run would cost and whether the translation profile is approved — read only.
  • The options now cover the full translation profile: target languages, website context, tone, glossary, additional instructions, link mapping and exclusions.

Notes

  • The analysis spends no money and changes nothing. The wizard that actually translates follows in one of the next versions.

Version 0.1.0 – 6 September 2026

Added

  • First version of the component: the dashboard shows the multilingual state of the website — languages, language filter, associations, articles per language and the mapping table.
  • The options hold the Claude access, model, source language and a cost limit per run.

Notes

  • The translation wizard itself follows in one of the next versions. This version sets up the frame and does not change any content.
